Guest Edit - A taste of summer with Tamie Freier

Thursday, October 11, 2012

This week we are very excited to welcome Tamie Freier as our guest editor. Tamie is an Australian Interior Designer & Stylist - one of our favourites - who bestows upon us some flawless styling tips to inspire the perfect summer makeover.

If you are anything like me, the hint of the approaching Australian Summer makes me want to pack away the winter woolies and create a fresh splash of summer in my home.

There are many ways to brighten up your space to showcase the current season and colour trends of pastels mixed with neon hues. Focus on changing a few main items and areas in your home so that you can inject a taste of summer, without having to blow your budget.

Create that fresh feel that you are after by displaying your everyday summer items such as woven baskets, bright beach towels and coloured throws for an instant summer vibe.

Use wall hooks as a way to display your special summer treasures to add a decorative element to a space. Stick to items that are relevant to the season and current colour trends. Or have fun with wall stickers - they are a great way to add a feature to a wall and can easily be changed and removed without needing a coat of paint!! Left: knobs with bags, beads, scarves hanging on them.  Image by Lotta Agaton.
