Reinterpreting 15 classic furniture designs of the late French designer Jean Prouvé, G- Star has successfully infused their contemporary edge to some of the designers most iconic pieces through the use of warm greys, cream, and Japanese red. Updating timber elements using solid oak, the new designs maintain the emphasis on the sculptural form so prevalent in Prouvé's work.
With both Prouvé and G Star coming from design backgrounds that celebrate both the utilitarian and the function, the collaboration seems a natural progression of their work.
Stand outs for us are the leather arm rests and the stitching detail of the Cite Chair - and who can resist the charm of the Tabouret Solvay Solid Oak stool with Basalt fittings. We like to think of it as refined contemporary.
